As healthcare providers, we view these issues through the lens of patient care. We believe that medical decisions should be made in the hospital or clinics, after discussions with our patients, and based on the best available research.

When medical decisions are made in courtrooms or by legislative bodies, we all lose. Unelected judges and partisan politicians should not be allowed to practice medicine. They do not have the requisite training and make decisions that are not consistent with best medical practices. As a result, our patients are harmed.
